VAT free sales via Local Education Authority (LEA) Schools. Many pupils at LEA schools are able to buy musical instruments without paying VAT.
The AIPS approved by H.M. Customs & Excise, allows schools to purchase instruments on behalf of pupils and claim back the VAT. The pupil then pays the school the Ex-VAT price.
The scheme is optional for LEA schools, but more and more are now taking part.
